Montreal singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright is coming out with a live CD and DVD (Dec 2007) of his performance of Judy Garland’s Carnegie Hall show on December 3rd 2006. The CD, called Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall, will contain live audio Wainwright renditions of Garland’s performances at the New York venue, while the DVD, called Rufus! Rufus! Rufus! Does Judy! Judy! Judy! Live at the London Palladium, will contain live audio-visual performances of Wainwright performing songs by Garland in London. Garland’s Judy at Carnegie Hall, from which Wainwright took his inspiration for these performances, came out in 1961.
